BWMT/Atlanta is a gay multiracial, multicultural organization committed to fostering
supportive environments wherein racial and cultural barriers can be overcome and the
goal of human equality realized. To these ends we engage in educational, political,
cultural, and social activities as a means of dealing with racism, sexism, homophobia,
HIV/AIDS discrimination and other inequities in our community and in our lives. All who
share our goals are welcome.

Potlucks
A little bit about our Potlucks.

We have a Potluck every month on the first Saturday night of each month
at 7:30pm.  This event is typically held at a group members home or a
selected location in the Atlanta area.  Each person attending is ask to
bring a food item to be shared with the group.  Typical items are salads,
vegetables, meats, breads, or deserts.  Plates, utensils, and drinks are
provided by BWMT Atlanta.

There are a few "house rules" that first timers should know that make will
your experience go better.

  1. If your not a paid BWMT Atlanta member you are expected to pay $5.00 at the door unless it is your
first time at a potluck.  Your first potluck entry fee is waived as a gift to you to try out our event and
group.  Joining BWMT Atlanta will save you this entry fee as well as earn you a BWMT Buck each
time you come to a Potluck.  Go to our How to Join page for details as to how to join us.
  2. Be aware that the Potlucks are usually at a private residence so please treat it as such.  Take care
not to damage or harm the host personal property and help us keep the home as clean as possible.
  3. If your on our email list you will receive an email (Pingg) notification of the event a few days before.
Please try to let us know by responding Yes if your coming as that will help us prepare for the proper
    number of people.
  4. The event starts at 7:30pm.  There is a social time before we eat.  The officers of BWMT Atlanta
usually try to have a brief informational update for the guest about 8:00 or 8:15pm and then everyone
starts eating.  First time guest are acknowledged and are invited to go first.
  5. Everyone is ask to wear a name badge.  This helps people get to know each other and makes
making new friends so much easier.
  6. Our potlucks can range in attendance from 30 to 60+ people.  There will be people of all races and
ages.  There will be some couples and several people who are there alone so don't be shy about
    coming and speaking to someone.
