Those of us who have been around Atlanta for decades remember that Einstein’s once offered a completely different environment (albeit at the same location), and sometimes the cuisine made you just want to ask….”huh?” These days, it’s a fairly chic (and much larger) space with a bar and restaurant that’s an easy choice for groups large and small, plus the menu seems much more stable. And, Einstein’s is part of the gay-friendly Metrotainment Cafes collection of restaurants.
Though many of Einstein’s entrees are in the $14-20 range, burgers are also a specialty, and one favorite item is the Chopped Cobb salad that’s a meal for only $10. Come and hang out at one of Atlanta’s most diverse non-smoking bars before or after we dine together!
Free valet parking is available (southbound on Juniper, pull across the left sidewalk after passing 12th Street and Einstein’s); there’s also flat rate surface parking ($5) at the corner of 11th and Juniper, and a deck with an entry from 12th street, between Peachtree and Juniper. Free street parking is possible nearby.
Note our new practice: the reservation will be under the name “BWMT”, so ask for that if you’ve RSVP’ed and arrive late. Better yet, arrive early and socialize at the bar!

Mary Mac’s is a colorful Atlanta institution, a bastion of classic Southern cuisine that has been patronized since 1945 by everyone from truck drivers to bank presidents to Jimmy Carter, who sometimes came by for lunch when he was governor. You’ll find a glass of pencils on your table; check off the menu items you desire (they change daily) and hand your selection to your server.
Among the famous lunch and dinner entrees are fried chicken dredged in buttermilk and flour, country-fried steak, and chicken pan pie topped with thick giblet gravy. Steaks, chops and burgers all come with a choice of side dishes, including expertly prepared fresh veggies. You might also select corn bread with potlicker, a tasty ham broth made with turnip greens that first-timers can sample for free. And the list of sides is endless, including black-eyed pies, fried green tomatoes, whipped potatoes, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, sweet-potato soufflé, and more. Fresh-from-the-oven corn and yeast rolls are served with lunch; there are hot cinnamon rolls, too. Desserts include peach cobbler and banana pudding—a favorite with locals. There’s a full bar, but the drink of choice is sweet tea (sweetened iced tea).
We are starting a new event on Friday nights called Bar Night. We will visit a different bar or club in Atlanta each month. You can mingle with the other clubgoers, or you can make a fool of yourself on the dancefloor. Just have a good time!

Come on over and enjoy biscuits and discourse! This month's topic is "Why are you attracted to what you are attracted to?". Of course, it is highly likely we will get off topic, so there is no telling what we may discuss.
We usually have 8-12 people attend, and the discussions cover topics such as the negative stereotypes of dating outside your race to the stares and insults one may have received, to the derogatory comments that can be made from family rejections. At times the discussion is emotional and heartfelt, and at other times we tend to vere off the subject. All express having an excellent time and they can't wait for the next Rap Group session.

This month, we will be hanging out at Cockpit near Grant Park.
Our July Dine-Out will be at Chili's in Lindbergh. With its festive decor of colorfully tiled tables, vintage photographs and sunny Southwestern accents, Chili's is very welcoming to same gender loving individuals of all ages at this informal Lindbergh hangout. The dining room booths are cozy for couples and the tables offer casual dining for groups tossing back margaritas and televised sports viewing at the bar. The menu features mild versions of Lone Star state favorites, from double-basted baby back ribs and steak fajitas to red-beef chili and deep-fried onions. Not to mention the eye candy is fabulous.
We will have happy hour at Woof's, which is kitty-corner to Chili's at 6:00.

Our June Dine-Out will be at Doc Chey's in Virginia Highlands. Rich Chey and Brook Messina turned their vision into reality when they opened the first Doc Chey's Noodle House in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta in 1997. Their goal was to offer guests "a beer and a bowl for under $10". The winning combination of affordable, delicious pan-Asian food, ample portions, friendly, efficient service and a funky, fun atmosphere has made Doc Chey's an Atlanta dining institution. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed. This location has been featured in Bon Appetite Magazine, Atlanta Magazine, Nations Restaurant News and MTV's Real World.

They feature dishes such as open-faced turkey sandwiches, potatoes, salad and bread, chicken souvlaki with a side of fries and extra tzatziki sauce. They also offer meatloaf with brown gravy, very little if all on their HUGE menu will not disappoint you here!

Come on over and enjoy biscuits and discourse! This month's topic is "Modern Dating". In today's information age, online dating is extremely common. The special drink for the month will be a Mint Julep.
This month, we will be hosting our monthly dine-out at Taco Mac in Lindbergh. The Taco Mac restaurant which features Burgers, American and Mexican food started in 1979 by some guys from Buffalo, NY on their way to Florida but stopped in Atlanta. After touring our fair city and discovering the great weather (after Buffalo’s weather, what’s not to like) they decided to stay. With little cash but a great idea, they thought to bring a popular northern dish down home to the South. They found a tiny taco shack at the corner of Virginia and Highland Avenues-now known as “The Virginia-Highlands”. This was the spot! It seemed to be a quiet, tucked away, well kept secret that might welcome a neighborhood pub that came to be known as Taco Mac.
This month we will have be having happy hour at Wet Willie's located at 2450 Piedmont Road Northeast Atlanta, GA 30324 (very close to Taco Mac) from 6:00 until 7:00 then off to dinner at Taco Mac. So come early and meet for drinks.
Great news everyone, BWMT will revive the movie nights that we once enjoyed in the past. Our first movie night will take place March 18th 2010 at 7:30 pm at Tray’s House. We don’t have a movie planned yet, because we ask that those who plan to attend bring their favorite DVD movie and we will choose a movie that evening.

Come on over and enjoy biscuits and discourse! This month's tentative topic is "Your Coming Out Story". Of course, it is highly likely we will get off topic, so there is no telling what we may discuss.
